What are you boasting about?

Psalm 52:1 (NASB), Psalm 52:7-9 (NASB)

Imagine David being tired of listening to King Saul’s boasting “Look at me… I’m so great!” that because the relationship between Saul & David was deteriating David got away to visit a friend!

Only the other day I was reminded of how different it is for Christians who live daily in relationship with Christ feel ‘out of place’ or a sense that they ‘don’t belong’ when friends (who have different values) invite them to the night club to dance the night away, or down the pub there’s an inner battle between wanting to be with friends but feeling uncomfortable in the hedonistic (self-worship) atmosphere.

Psalm 45: 1-9

Are you waiting for your ideal partner, soul mate?

There is much consideration to what you’re looking for but what about the character that God calls forth in men that will bless their life-long partner?

Imagine the writer of this psalm calling forth God-anointed qualities. Consider how you are doing yourself and how Father God would call forth these qualities in yourself:
1/ (v2) Integrity characterised by grace!
2/ (3-5) ready to stand up for justice, led by your God into tremendous things, stand firm & live victorious – know your enemy & know victory because:
3/ (v6-7) God is on the throne, delight in the things of God, live in His daily anointing
4/ (8-9) There is something about your very presence that is attractive, like “ozone-drenched garments (MSG)” because of your lifestyle of worship emanating from the very throne room of God!

Guys! A challenge how do you match up? If you’re looking for love get your character in shape before the Lord, perhaps this means a lifestyle change.

Dear Father,
Lord help me today to begin to live as the man you want me to be – shaking of my insecurity and putting on the garment of praise that I may daily walk with integrity and grace, continually listening to your direction. Amen.
